Hi Bees (especially Trinidadian bees!)
I will be meeting my bf’s parents for the first time in person this Christmas when I go spend 2 weeks at their house. My bf and I have agreed to get them gifts as a couple for Christmas, but since this is the first time I will be meeting them and they will be hosting me for 2 weeks, I also want to get them another gift for when I first meet them (sort as a “thank you for hosting me” gift)… but I have no idea what to get!
I don’t know what’s a common gift in Trinidad. If they were in Canada, I probably would’ve brought along a bottle of wine but I’m not sure if that’s something they’ll appreciate. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated!

Are they big “limers”? (Ask your bf this, he’ll know exactly what I mean). If so I’ll get them a bottle of Johnnie Walker or a bottle of Moet or any of their favourite alcohol. Trinis aren’t really big wine drinkers.
If not, maybe a gift card for a nice restaurant where they can treat themselves. Do you know which part of Trinidad they’re from? That may help.
ETA: Some chocolate might also be nice. You can ask someone at the Piarco gift shop for some guidance as to what’s popular. I’m sure they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi! I’m Trinidadian. A bottle of their favorite alcohol (not necessarily wine) would be the best gift. Ask your boyfriend what they prefer…
Flowers/potted plant in addition to the alcohol would get you extra points for being thoughtful and generous.
