We had a custom double halo ring made and it was just given to me by the jeweler a few days ago. My immediate reaction was that it was too big.
They are willing to remake the ring and just add this setting to their inventory. Can you please weigh in and let me know what you think of its size on my hand….(and yes, I desperately need a manicure – lol)! Also, if you don’t like – please let me know your suggestions for improvement…

I like rounds with a single cushion halo (it’s one of the very few times I like halos). I would just get rid of the second halo, and it would be perfect.

Trust me you will get used to it.
The picture of my ring I in the box, is the one that the jewller sent me when he finished my ring. He did it exactly to my design, but my first reaction was shit that’s too big, i forgot to take into account the size if my centre stone, well here we are four months later and my fiancé said the other day, it’s shrunk I am sure you could of gone bigger on the halo. Obviously it hasn’t shrunk we have just go used to looking at it. Do I love it HELL YEAH. Rock the rock it’s gorgeous.

You never thought it would be way to big during the design process?
If you have to have a halo I would bring it down to a single halo, its a nice looking diamond, you can do alot with it. Lately I have been looking at more split shanks. So thats my vote.

I don’t think it looks TOO big it looks big yes but I think all double halos look big. I think it would look nice if you just had a single halo.

I think I would either stick to a single halo or if I keep the double, I would use much smaller stones so the halos are narrower.
Can you also post a pic from the side?

I think it’s very beautiful! If you feel it’s too big, I agreed with PP that you should remove the second halo. Either way though, I really like it!

This is a pic from the side. The centre stone is definitely set too high – he can easily fix that, but if I need to fixed in other ways – it has to be remade. I keep going back and forth – I don’t want it too small, but I don’t want it to look gaudy either…..

I love it but I would definitely have the center stone brought down.. but it’s really your call you know what feels right on your hand.. but I’ve heard a lot of girls being iffy about their ring being too large and then regret not going bigger after a few months!

Can you give it some time to get used to it first? I don’t think its “too big”, but it’s def big (in a good way).
I guess it depends on what kind of person you are. Do you like a lot of fuss? Or are you slightly introverted? Would people commenting on it make you uncomfortable, or would you swoon? If you like the attention, keep it with 2 halos. If you’re more demure, take away one halo.

jmae156: umm I don’t like it…especially from the side. It should be seamless not sticking up like that. Here is my favorite halo for a round….

Not too big at All! I vote for the bling, it doesn’t over take your finger.

What she said, drop down to one or use smaller stones for the double halo. I would also want the halo at more of a “tilt”. Many…most…jewelers can’t do very fine halos or get the tilt right though so if you want to stick with the same place, I’d suggest going to a single halo.
