My mom offered to pay for mine and corsage/boutineers … not sure if I spelled that right since the bee some how kills my browsers spell checker :(! ).

She wanted to do it at a local grocery store because she thought it was cheaper, I didn’t like the vibe I got and only let her order the corsage/boutineers there.  I found a local flower/home garden store to get the bouquet from.  They were half the price with better flowers with the same picture books to choose from only they could tell you what was in season and other options! AND when the grocery store had all the wrong color bouts (I said nothing that looked pink and these were in your face pink), the local place stepped up said we’ve got (these options) and then made new ones on the spot for less than the grocery store in about 20 minutes!

I would check with local stores on what flowers are in season then, what they can order and it probably won’t cost much more for them to put them together than DYI!  From what I learned most stores get theirs online anyway (at a discount)… so you can get the same thing and help with what’s in season, colors, and they’ll put it together at a local place if you’re lucky.

I told them what colors and styles of flowers I wanted and they said “we can do this color in these flowers”, etc.  Really handy, even if you aren’t going to buy from them you could go talk to them.

I’m having my green thumb sister grow us some flowers.  Also, find out where the warehouse is in your area where florists buy their flowers, and go there yourself.  Buy your own flowers, and make your own boquets.

I made all of my flowers out of coffee filters and sticks for $20 bucks!  They are beautiful.  Plus, one of our guests was a horticultuist and could tell what each of the flowers was supposed to be.  =)

I ordered my bouquet from Vickie kreuger on etsy and LOVE it!  She gave me the boutonniere for my groom and my hair piece free!  Her shipping charges were the ACTUAL shipping charge instead of pocketing money from that also.  She communicated well and was super sweet through the whole thing.  I feel like I made a new friend :). She can work with your budget and the flowers are homemade fabric flowers so they will never dies but dont look like cheap silk flowers 🙂 Which I love!

Make your own. I swear, it cost me less than $3 (Canadian) for buttons and the egg beater. After spring cleaning, my Fiance and I had a lot of clothing we wanted to throw away, so I used them to make flowers.

It’s still a work in progress, but here’s what it looks like right now. Depending on your scrap cloth, you can make it your own colour theme (which I don’t have).

I bought my silks from afloral.com and assembled them myself (although they have some pre-made as well). I was VERY happy with them, they photographed well, and they were cheap. My bouquet was $22 all in, each bridesmaids’ was $12, each boutonniere was $1.70, each corsage for moms was $4.60.

Don’t regret using silks at ALL. Plus, having them done way in advance and not having to worry about them wilting/getting damaged the day of was SOOO nice.

This may not be for everyone but we’re planning to go to a local florist or grocery and pick up flowers the day before. We have a Maid/Matron of Honor and a Best Man. I don’t want to get too complicated with things.
