Anyone have any guidance on how much their measurements changed in the last few weeks before the wedding?
I’m only going back to wedding-city once more, about one month before the wedding and have arranged for fitting/alterations that day – but I may not be able to do a last minute one right before the wedding like I thought
What do you think? Did you lose/gain a lot of weight if you weren’t trying??

Sounds risky to me. I was advised to have at least 3 fittings, because even when the take it in, it’s hard to gauge how much until you see it on again. So A) I’m not sure you can count on a good fit from only one fitting and B) I would be worried about last minute weight fluxation. If you can swing another fitting before the wedding, I would do it!

Hi date twin! I had my first fitting yesterday and my second will be 2 weeks before the wedding…so if there’s more alterations, they can fix it. Will you have any time right before the wedding to get in there just in case?

Hmmm I lost 15lbs during the two weeks leading up to my previous wedding. My dress was was two sizes to big on my wedding day and I wasn’t trying. I was honestly attempting to stay the same size but stress does that to me.

I didn’t have any dress fittings and I was okay 🙂
I bought it off the rack 7 months before the wedding. I was living in a different country so there was no opportunity to try it on until the week of the wedding.
I’m sure if it fits you 1 month out, it will fit you the day of 🙂

Hmmm…I think it sounds a little risky. Do you have a history of weight fluctuations? If not, then you might be ok. If you know that you tend to lose or gain weight in times of stress, I think you might want to consider adding at least one more appointment.

Oh man, I’m screwed :s I’m really short (4″11) so even 2-3 lbs makes such a huge difference and I’m such a stress eater!
I wonder if it might be better for me to do fittings at two different places?
i.e. fit dress first time in October (I have to go to Phx and get it) and then bring it back with me and do another fitting in my hometown, and then bring it back to Phx with me when I come for wedding and do a last one the week before?
This is so complicated!

I would definitely try and find a way to have another fitting closer to the wedding, just to be on the safe side. You don’t need any last-minute surprises!

I had my first fiting at the end of April for my June wedding. My measurements didn’t change but I’m glad I had the second fitting because the bustle wasn’t complete on my dress and we had to have her fix it.
