- Wedding: September 2014
I recently got engaged and attended a bridal fair where I receive lots of info on hall rentals etc. I think I found a good deal but need some opinions so first of all the location for the reception is less than 10 miles out of town and close enough for all our family and friends to attend, I was a little off put by the fact it was called a bar and grill but after checking it out they actually have a very large add on for events the added on building was originally for basketball/ vollyball teams through winter but they make more money booking weddings! The floors are glossy wood like a gymnasium theres enough room for 300+ people and we are planning to invite around 200 guests, there are many round folding tables and some longer ones and all folding chairs provided theres a bar set up in the actual banquet area. and a large screen on the wall for use with projector , which is included. There is even an outdoor enclosure that accomodates for 250 ppl. The owner also said theres a small park another mile or two down the road that is popular for weddings and will allow us to take the folding chairs to set up at that location and even offered some of his employees to help The owner is very nice he was very clean cut and polite maybe late 30’s he does all the dj’ing as well and has been doing the weddings for 5 yrs out there now. The caterer they use is known well in town and has decent food. My fiance and I were very impressed by how clean, attractive and large the space was. Now heres the wedding package and price that we are considering.
This package includes the rental friday before wedding for decorating, saturday of wedding and sunday to come back and gather things, along with a lock room we can put a padlock on and do a gift opening that next day.
-Hall for sat night wedding 4:30pm-12:00 am including deposit and clean up/ we just need to remove our things for clean up and his employees do all the sweeping, mopping, gathing balloons etc.
-Rehearsal dinner one meat and two sides of choices buffet style serving 40
-Reception Dinner 2 meats/2 sides of choice buffet style meal serving 200- includes coffee, milk, sodas
-Three half barrels of domestic beer served- IS THAT ALOT? I dont know enough for 200 guests
-Light music for meal and DJ 8pm-12am
Price of package $3,500.00…….Is this reasonable?
We are also thinking on purchasing $500.00 worth of drink tickets for stand ups and special guests
We need to put a deposit of $250.00 down to hold our day which goes to the price of reception.
We live in wisconsin and have very laid back family and friends we are thinking of a rustic wedding and would like our reception to be a fun celebration more than a Formal event. Please let me know your input on if this is a good deal for all included , Are there other ideas to consider? So far this is the cheapest option we have found and we are on a budget,
Thanks for any input!!!- Ashley
