hello.jessie :  1.5 won’t change the way your diamond looks, basically at all. 1.6 may. Try Diamond Database and enter the dimension of your stone, and the dimension of stones you’re considering. This way you can see them side by side… and then look at the price difference. I would really have a hard time shelling out thousands more for something that doesn’t look bigger unless it’s right next to my old stone and I can see it’s a HAIR larger haha.

Again, my two cents… but no one walks around asking to see your cert, and they probably already think your stone is around 1.5

Halo it up, baby. That will give you the impact you’re looking for.

I think the only possible way the 1.5 would possibly look demonstrably bigger is if you put it in solitaire with very unnoticeable prongs. Otherwise, I don’t think the difference will be enough to satisfy you.

As an FYI, my 1.35 in a halo has a bigger presence than my sister’s spready 2 ct. Obviously her stone is much bigger than my center but my halo’s diameter is larger by a good amount.

This is my 1.32 ct solitaire, I eventually plan on doing a different setting with pave, side stones, or a small halo also but I do like the classic look!  I would recommend a very thin band to make the diamond look bigger and also upgrading to at least 1.6-1.75 to see a big difference!

neubee :  I had a look at your profile and your ring is stunning. Do you know the measurements of your center? And what size diamond are in your halo? It looks perfection to me!!

lisag103 :  Thanks! The center stone is 7.1mm and I believe the halo diameter is 9.62mm. I’m not sure of the size of the melee but they’re .43ctw. Victor Canera made it so I just sent my diamond to him and asked for a delicate halo, and he took care of it all.

@hello.jessie I’m actually not positive but I believe it’s 1.8-2mm.
