Sooo I fell in love with two pairs of shoes and I can’t decide which pair I should keep to wear for the wedding and which pair I should return. I’m hoping you Bees can help!
I fell in love with Badgley Mischka’s Goodie pump a long time ago, and I was convinced they were the ones. I was so convinced that I bought them and stopped looking…for a while.
Andddddd then I accidently stumbled across these Benjamin Adams Astor shoes… so I just HAD to at least order them and try them on. (Yes, I know, I’m absolutely ridiculous.)
And this is my dress:
Here are the pros/cons I see for each.
Goodie Pump: 1) super tall 4″ = pro and con… I’m short (5’0) and FH is tall (6′) so they would make me look a little less stumpy, but they are not that comfortable. 2) classic wedding shoe = pro and con… while it’s a “safe” bet, I don’t see myself ever able to wear a plain white shoe again, 3) they photograph well alone (silly, I know, but I love shoe/ring pics during the get ready process.)
Astor Sandal: 1) not as tall 3.5″ = a little more comfortable without the extra height, but no platform so still not that comfortable, 2) I will definitely be able to wear these again, 3) don’t photograph as well because the ankle strap sags — they look better on.
So which shoes do you like better? Which would go better with my dress? Any of you Bees wear these shoes & can tell me how you lasted in them for the day of?

@PrincessBride27: i love the 2nd pair on you, but are they a little too big?

I like the first ones because i feel like your dress needs a more substantial shoe.

@ferdie224: Yes, I think they’re a tiny bit big, but I also think the problem is that my foot slips forward too much in them. I was hoping to buy one of those cushions to go under the ball of my foot to prevent that.

The Goodie Pump, best compliments your gown hands down.

The goodie pump, I’m not a huge fan of strappy sandals…

Your dress is stunning on you. I love the first pair of shoes better:)

I voted for the pumps, only because I think they are a better fit with the style of your dress.

LOVE the first ones! I think the look like they are a better fit and dont take away from your dress (which is the main event anyway, no?)

The first suit the fullness of your dress better. I think you can dye satin shoes sometimes for re-use? But hey, the second look really great and you said you could wear them again 😉

the pumps suit your dress wayyy more – and they look more well made and expensive than the second pair.

Im sorry but those strappy sandals are soooo typical, they are nothing special at all and I really dont like them. The pumps are much more unique

With the Astors, I like the strap across the toe but the crossover ankle strap looks too thick and chunky. It doesn’t suit the delicate style of the shoe.
Also, I think your dress needs a more formal shoe, rather than a flimsy sandal style. The Badgley Mischkas suit your dress beautifully! And in terms of comfort, it doesn’t sound like there’s enough of a difference to go for the Astors on that alone.
