Hi,
I am COMPLETELY overwhlemed with planning a honeymoon!! Anyone have any advice of where to start? I tried starting at trip advisor, but even still-there is just way too much to wade through. We have a few things that we know we want:
1. beach (preferably with waves). Open to most places in the carribean, mexico or central america, but not looking to spend an entire day on a plane
2. all-inclusive resort-with good ratings especially on food and cleanliness
3. adult-only
4. flying out of myrtle beach (to honeymoon location) and back into Boston [can be flexible on this, though]
5. Budget of about $3,500 for resort and plane tickets [also a little flexible]

Any Excellence Resort- a few locations in Mexico, DR, and Jamacia! We were in Rivieria Maya Location and it was awesome! You can book through their website (we did) or through a travel agent.

There are many great options to choose from. (That’s obvious since you’ve already been looking!). Every resort has a pretty web site and a slick brochure with gorgeous pictures. A good travel consultant will help you weed through all of that and let you know what the differences are, however subtle, because they will have personally spent time at most of them. Trust me when I say that not all resorts are created equal! (The east coast of Mexico has almost 200 resorts alone. That’s a lot to try to wade through and that’s just in 1 destination!). A good travel consultant will also not be beholden to one resort chain, either. They should be able to discuss a variety of properties based on personal experience. Best wishes for a great honeymoon!

I would suggest first deciding on where you want to go.. Most tourtist areas have great websites that tell you about the city. I would start there and decide what is important to you.
Do you want to stay at the resort the whole time and enjoy the all inclusive benefits? Or do you want to go out more and do activities like zip lining or doing a resturant tour?
I would also reccomond looking at average flight prices to major cities your looking at. When I was looking it cost me more to fly from Minneapolis to Ottowa Canada than it did to fly from Chicago to Puerto Vallarta Mexico..

We just got back from vacationing in Cayman which was great – however its very expensive! The only downside I can see is that your wedding date is in Novemeber which is considered the beginnig of high season for the Caribbean. Mexico is another great location – I really like Cabo and there are tons of great all inclusive resorts there.
