It definitely looks higher. I was going to say it might be because it’s a bigger stone but you can clearly see the culet has a much larger void underneath it whereas the stock photo it’s seated lower to the donut. Can you dispute the charge with PayPal or your credit card company? They’ve been this bad to deal with thus far, so you might just want to cut your losses and start over with a new jeweler. I’m so sorry Bee! I’d be livid too. I’d honestly just request a refund and go elsewhere.

Etsy encourages you to fix it with the seller first, but they will help you if you get jipped (looking like you might). I’m not sure how to do that, but I’m sure a quick Google search would do the trick. I realize you probably don’t want to wait even longer and go through the whole process again with a new seller, but you DO NOT want a ring that is not exactly what you wanted. If you’re looking for custom moissy sellers at a fair value for great work, check out Esdomera. I got my engagment ring from them and I’m awaiting my custom wedding band.

They have always been quick. We purchased the wedding band on Aug 20, three days later got a CAD, and it’s already in the mail. They’re worth a try 🙂

It looks very different from the stock pic to me. The little hole under the prong and above the donut is huge on yours—it looks odd. I would keep asking that they either fix the ring or give you a refund.

It doesn’t look that different to me,  but hard for me to tell with the different angles and distance.

I’m so sorry you’re having so many issues with them! I felt stressed out on your behalf while reading.

I just wanted to say, in regards to the longer prongs, it looks like the stone in their stock photo is smaller both in carat and height which will make it a lower setting. Old cuts carry more weight below the surface so it would sit higher than the stock ring.

I hope that helps a little bit! I’m sorry I can’t speak to the other differences. Wishing you the best of luck with them!

Try to return it and get a full refund. If that doesn’t work, dispute the charge on your credit card. I’ve had the worst luck with Etsy vendors.

I’d flat out tell them you want your money back, that second ring doesn’t look to be nearly the same quality as the stock photo.

I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble. I’d request an immediate refund and find someone else to make your ring. You’re a paying customer and it sounds like you’ve received horrible service. It’s a pain to have to start over, but I’d hate for you to compromise and get stuck with a ring you don’t love.
