you first need to know the dimensions of your tables and the pillow. Once you figure that out you just need to decide how wide you want the table runner and how much overhang. Pillows are pretty straightforward if you are just making an envelope case. And don’t forget their are 36 in in a yard to figure out how many yrds you need! good luck 🙂

Also note the width of your fabric. Most fabric is about 45″ wide, but some fabrics (especially “home” fabrics) are 60″. So if your table runners are say, 20″ wide you can cut the width in half and get more bang for your buck.

I made a friends ring pillow with two 12″ squares (from a length of 12×48″ habatoi) and it turned out a great size. I will never work with habatoi again though. Pure madness.

Corgitales is right about the widths, though there are some variations depending on where/whom you buy from.
