I voted #2. I tried on #1 as well, and had the same issue with the hip thing… beautiful dress, but not forgiving if you have ANY type of curve… it broke my heart as well, I feel ya! But the 2nd dress… GORGEOUS!!! I love the flowers 🙂

@engNkhd: Is there another David’s Bridal within driving distance of where you are located? It might be worth seeing if another store has dress #1 in a larger size so you can get a better idea if it will fit the way you want.
Honestly, I don’t think you will go wrong with either dress, it’s just a matter of what look you like better. Hang in there! 🙂

#2 is so much more figure flattering on you. As a full figure gal I learned that silhoutte one does not work for very many of us 🙁 Dress #2 makes you look 30lbs slimmer IMO Off the top of my head I cant think of which dresses I tried on would work best for you after 126 they all blurred together but have you tried alfred angelo?

well no this davids bridal is 1hr and 30 min away…=( IDK what to do

I love them both, but i am partial to flowers so the second one is amazing… plus the smile you have in the second one… seems to me like you liked it more as well!!! BUT either way you will look amazing on your big day i am sure!

I like both dresses. If you get number 1, I’d definitely order a size or two larger and get altered to fit you–it looks like it’s kind of pulling in the boob area, too. But the second one is incredibly flattering as-is, and might not even need alterations. It’s weird, because generally dresses like 2 don’t do anything for me, but on you it looks phenomenal.

The second one is better, but I’d keep looking. Maybe an a-line?

I have loved dress number 1 for months now and am anxious to try it on to see if it lives up to my expectations on.
Maybe dress #1 will give you the shape you want if you try it on with an a-line slip to make it flare out a little more without having to do major alterations.
However I ADORE dress #2 on you! You look stunning!!

If you can customize 1 (if alterations won’t blow the budget) then I would totally go for 1 and get it altered to fit you perfectly. No store sample fits anyone perfectly, so it could end up being exactly what you want. If you LOVE it and you FELT great in it, then that’s the most important thing! Even if everyone else tells you something is more flattering, if you don’t feel like it is it’s not going to be right for you. Go back and take a few more shots of you in the lace dress smiling, with a veil on, from the side, from the back, etc. and make sure you feel good looking at the pictures as well.

The A line of the second dress is better on you but I like the styling of the first more. I vote keep looking.

I voted for dress 2 but I did have a suggestion! Not sure if anyone mentioned it here or if its something you would consider but have you thought of going to a dress maker with the first dress photos and specs and tell them your concerns and see if there is something they can make that will make you feel less self-conscious about your hips whilst keeping the style and lace features you love?

i think second dress looks better.
off topic i also love your hair in pic 2

thank you! we tried all the slips on and none worked…I will tell you dress 1 is amazing it feels so good on and not itchy or hot! But if you have hips you see what it does!!! Im really not even that big in the hips but this dress makes me look HUGE! =) Good Luck!!! Let me know if it works for you please I would love for it to be someones dress!!!
