I really like this dress. I see myself in lace (and this doesn’t have any), but I was thinking maybe I could add a lace bolero jacket? Also, the lace dresses I’ve tried on so far always look like too much on me. Anyway, the sample sale is tomorrow, so I need to make a decision. I feel like there might be something better out there (for more money – this dress is a steal), but hate the thought of it not being available if I don’t find something. Not sure what to do. Honestly, do you think I can do better? Thanks.

I think you have plenty of time till your wedding and don’t need to rush and buy it in the sample sale if you arent sure about it. It is a lovely dress but it sounds like your not over the moon about it. I say hold off and wait and look for dresses that knock you off your feet

I think you look absolutely GORGEOUS. I say go with how you feel in it.

i think it looks amazing on you. but like someone said, you have lots of time. i was intent on finding my dream dress and i spent more than i wanted….but i am planning to totally sell it after to get some of the money back. knowing that, i didnt feel so bad about going $300 over my budget!

@hgail: I too say wait. You have time. My Boyfriend or Best Friend found a dress she loved $1000 over her budget but she had it made by a company in China for under her budget. It was gorgeous and I really couln’t tell the difference between it and the “real” one except that the changes she wanted were included in the price. If you don’t mind a no name dress you could pretty much have one custom made for you for a lot less. Just a thought! I say hold off for one that makes you feel like a million bucks.

I’ll be honest…I think you can find a much prettier dress. I love simple dresses, but I think this one is TOO simple & plain. I’d keep looking.
Good luck 🙂

I think that one’s really pretty, but I must agree with the others–if you don’t love it, don’t buy it! You might just end up with dreaded “dress regret” !!! And I’m sure that if you shop around hard enough, you’ll find something you love that works with your budget as well.

I think this dress is beautiful! And I also think that you shouldn’t give up on what you really want. Go try on some other dresses at another salon tomorrow. Call around and just try and get in at the last minute. If you can’t get in, then maybe you should just wait to buy your dress until you’re 100% sure. Yeah, you might miss the sample sale and lose out on saving some money but think about it this way: your photos are going to be around forever, and do you always want to look back on the pics and see the dress and go “I really wish i would have just waited to see if there was another dress out there for me, saving a couple hundred dollars wasn’t worthit”?
I was in a similar situation, faced with a sample sale and getting a percentage off on a dress I wasn’t able to try on. I knew what i wanted but hadn’t found something like it to try on. I did some last minute running around the next day and found a shop with a knock off to see how it would look on me. I knew what I wanted and i was determined to find it. I ended up going with my gut, and getting thte dress I really wanted. It’s the best thing i could have done.
Whatever you chose, I just want you to be happy with it. Good luck!!

It’s a lovely looking dress but if you have your heart set on lace keep looking. You may not end up with a lace dress but hopefully it will be because you found something else you fell in love with.
If you’re a more practical kind of person who doesn’t believe in ‘dress love’ then you have a great option here. It’s a great looking dress so I don’t think you can make a wrong decision either way.

It looks stunning on you, but if you’re not 100% sure about the dress don’t buy it. You don’t want to have dress regret and end up looking for another dress. It would defeat the purpose of spending less money on the dress if you have to buy another one! 🙂

thanks for the responses!! I didn’t go get it, and found something I might like better. Looks like I’m not done shopping, but happy with the decision to keep looking. Thanks 🙂
