Help! I’m never sure what to tip outside of salon services!
I tip service individuals (nails, hair, etc) at salons with the understanding that they will only receive a portion of the service price because of their overhead (renting the chair, etc). For example, my hair stylist at a salon charges me $50 for a cut, where maybe $20 goes to the salon, and the stylist keeps $30. I always tip at the salon at least 15%.
I’m getting eyelash extensions done on Thursday. I found her online and her work looks awesome/she got great reviews. She does the lashes in her home, and it’s just her. There is no receptionist or other owner (I just text her to see if she has a free appointment)
If she charges $160 (cash/check) for her service:
1) Should I just pay the $160 charge?
1) Should I tip on top of the $160 charge?
2) If yes to #2, how much I should tip?
