@Monkeygirl, do you have a recipe? Those sound like they’d be good, even though I’m a fan of martinis, I do love pumpkin pie with cool whip. Other pumpkin martini recipes that you find, most people say they don’t taste like pumpkin at all.

One of my all time favorite fall beers is Amber Woodchuck.  I know that doesn’t help at all with your cocktail question, but maybe you could do 2 specialty drinks:  The Amber Woodchuck and a fancy spiced rum in hot cider mix?  Mmm…Now I really want to go buy both of those drinks!

I thought apple cider, but now I am digging the idea of a pumpkin martini.  I’ve never had one, but mmm . . . does that sound good!

@Monkeygirl: I second pumpkin martinis! We always make them at Halloween. I can’t remember which recipe we’ve used, but we’ve done it with fresh pumpkin puree as well as canned pumpkin (not pumpkin liqueur). I think there’s also a little bit of citrus in it to give it some kick.

Apple pie martinis are another good one.

A Dark and Stormy? Super tasty, I like it best when made with dark rum. It has ginger beer in it and ginger is a good fall spice.

We’re having hard cider at our wedding–that might be a good addition for you too!

I’m giving another nod for the pumpkin martini’s.  Yummy!!!  I ordered one for the first time while on my honeymoon last year and was in love!  They coated the rim with sugar as you can see.

Jackie-O Cost Plus has a plethera of Halloween themed wines if you want to check them out.

You could put a bottle at each table but some people may fight over them.

Haha, oh bees, Monkeygirl is obsessed with all things pumpkin. If it tastes like pumpkin, I’m all over it. Thankfully I have a new hubby who makes me pumpkin martinis whenever the mood strikes! Love him! 🙂

Found one in Everyday Food when it came in the mail.

Spooky Rum Cooler

Spread black sanding sugar on a saucer.  Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip in sugar to coat.  Add ice to glass.  Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1 ounce light rum, 3 tablespoons simple syrup, and 1/4 cup 100% pomegranate juice.  Shake 30 seconds.  Strain into glass, leaving space at top.  Gently pour in 1 ounce dark rum so it floats on top.
