I’m doing it! There’s no reason not to be comfortable. Besides, my fiancee really wants to change into a polo and khakis for the reception. He doesn’t want to be stuck in a tux all night. Who could blame him? Have fun with it.

Absolutely!  Search “reception dress” on the boards, and you’ll find a ton of brides who have done it or are going to do it.  I’d love to see a picture of it!

My dress is very heavy (full skirt) and I imagine that it will be hot (outdoor ceremony) and difficult to dance in as well.  So, I found a really nice long straight (lighter weight) gown on ebay for only a $100! I think it will be a nice surprise for the hubby and guests to see a new dress.  But most importantanly I will be more comfortable as the night goes on. My only question is, at point during the reception do most brides change?
