Can you chose your own vendors.

When must your guests leave.

Is alcohol allowed.

Are open flames (candles) allowed.

What is the backup plan (if venue is outside, for weather).

Corkage fee if you bring your own alcohol.

Extra costs (service fee, clean up etc.)

Everything brenna said. Also ask what exactly you’re getting with the venue. Tables, chairs, plates, cups, silverware, linens, etc?

Also what time you can show up to decorate (or have someone else decorate).

  • Who from the venue will be there that day?
  • What are the duties of that person
  • How many people can fit in the venue? for a seated dinner? for cocktails and appetizers? for buffet?
  • Deposit?  Payment plan?

Everything everyone else has said & also if you are able to hang things on the wall. We aren’t allowed to use tape or nails on the walls but we can use those new sticky tabs that you attach to the wall & then pull the tab down.

  1. What is the facility rental fee?
  2.  What is the cost-for food?
  3. What is the cost-for beverage?
  4.  If you can hold your ceremony on site, what is the ceremony fee?
  5. What is the set-up/break-down fee?
  6. What is the staffing fee? (including bartenders, waiters etc.)
  7. Is there a fee for security personnel?
  8. Do they have adequate coat check and bathroom facilities?
  9. What’s the cancellation policy?
  10. Is there a payment schedule? What kind of deposits are required?
  11. Are there any hidden costs? (Before you sign the contract, read it carefully.)
  12. What are the overtime charges?
  13. Do they have a liquor license?
  14. Will they allow you to bring your own liquor?
  15. Is there room in the wedding venue for a Dj and/or dancing?
  16. Is there a space for the bride and groom to change and/or relax?
  17. Where will you take photographs? Is there a park nearby, or do the coordinators have recommended spots on the grounds?
  18. Is there a venue coordinator?
  19. Where can your guests park? Are there extra fees for parking? Do they have valet parking?
  20. Especially in museums or private clubs, are there limitations on decorations? Do they limit food and drinks to only certain areas of the wedding venue?
  21. Are candles or other open flames allowed?
  22. Are linins included?
  23. Do you have banquet tables or just round? Could we use both?
  24. Is there a separate area for the cocktail reception?
  25. What is the length of the facility rental? Is there an overtime fee if your wedding reception lasts longer?
  26. Do you have use of the entire reception site? If not – what areas can your party use?
  27. Does the site have any music or noise restrictions?
  28. Are there any decorating restrictions?
  29. Will there be another party during, before or after yours? If so, how will this affect your event?
  30. Ask if they are doing any remodeling or redecorating from now until your wedding day. You don’t want construction going on during your reception.
  31. Is there a cake cutting fee?
