I’m pretty new to the hive, but I’ve found it to be very helpful so far. My boyfriend and I are getting engaged sometime by the end of this year , and I need some help on deciding which ring to use! Please tell me which ring you like better!
The first option is a 1 carat princess cut solitaire!
… and the second option is an eternity ring. We already bought the mount and would use the diamond above for the center diamond.
Heres the same ring straight on…
Let me know what you girls think! 🙂

Personally, I love the little bit of extra dazzle with the eternity band.

I like the eternity band option with a princess stone. So pretty!
My SIL has one similar to the first one you posted which is also pretty, but I don’t wear much jewelry so I’d like the little extra.

I like the second option, it’s a BEAUTIFUL setting!

I’m with Bakerella on this one…the eternity band is gorgeous!

Have you given thought to what sort of wedding band you’ll want, and whether you’ll want it to match your E-ring? Aesthetically, I like the eternity band, but I recommend contemplating your wedding band options before making your final Engagement Ring decision.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone!
@ redherring: Yeah, I have thought about the wedding band, and either way I would want something very thin and simple. The place we bought the semi mount from sells a matching wedding band, but I think even that might be too much for this, I would want something very thin.
Thanks for the advice!

More diamonds!! =D I love bands with a little extra sparkle.

I agree with redherring. Try the ring on with wedding bands. I thought I wanted a ton of sparkle on my engagement ring, but then I tried it on with a diamond eternity band for my wedding ring, and it looked great with my princess-cut solitaire! I think the extra bling would have taken away from my beautiful center diamond. Just something to think about!

I agree with the others – I thought I wanted an eternity band until I remembered about a wedding band! I personally thought an eternity band e-ring AND wedding band was too much for me. I opted for the plain engagement ring band and figured if I wanted sparkle, I could do an eternity band for my wedding band. As it turns out, I was a little diamond-happy, and am doing a plain band for both after all (i love the way the center stone stands out). So just try on both rings with different kinds of wedding bands and you’ll know what you want!

I have a single round cut solitaire on a platinum setting. I feel like all the other little diamonds take away from the most important one.

Go the eternity! The setting is beautiful 🙂 A simple thin wedding bad would suit that semi-mount perfectly!

I like the eternity. I think it’s extra pretty. Unfortunately, I don’t have diamonds on either ring (my e-ring is a pearl…which I love, especially since it was given to my husband to give to me by someone who’s like my mother…but I have to live vicariously through all the pretty diamonds I see on here 🙂
