We are planning our wedding for the fall of 2017 . I wanted a more rustic outdoor wedding but i want to incorporate a school theme since me and my Fiance have been together since freshmen year and we actually won highschool sweet hearts. I havent found many school themed weddings on pintrest . Oh and I forgot to mention we are hoping to do almost everything diy and our budget is on the lower side . Im hoping the rustic and school theme go hand and hand . Any one have and ideas ???

Fiance and I are renting a school bus instead of a limo for transportation. My mom is a school bus driver and I thought it was a cute little nod to her. Also, I think wedding photos with school buses are adorable and it’s cheap!

I have seen weddings that while not school themed they used old hardback books throughout as decor. Try going to a goodwill, used book store, or flea market and you can find lots of old hard back classic books in an array of colorful covers. I have even had a friend find an old book at a flea market that happened to be a 1st edition of a rare print, he paid 50 cents for it and later found out that it was worth a couple thousand. Happy Hunting!

I was going to do this myself since I have a love for reading but you can make flowers out of book pages. I still have all the books I read in high school and was going to cut those. Time won’t allow me now but I like the idea.

Our wedding is at a school! LOL everything will be rustic/vintage and I’m doing 90% of decor DIY
Our venue is Enoch Turner Schoolhouse if you want to check it out.
Basically I’m doing this for centerpieces: vintage hardcover books, lanterns, candles and teacups

I bought doilies and other decor at thrift stores to save money. I joined freecycled.org and received majority of my decor from previous brides. One bride changed her theme altogether so she gave me all her burlap runners, mason jars, and ribbons!
My other posts (both boards and gallery) will show my DIY and other decor ideas for my school vintage theme wedding 🙂

I forgot to add we’re using the chalkboard at the venue for backdrop for pictures. We plan to have our own “photo booth” with props etc.
Here’s a pic of another wedding that happened there:

I have seen some really cute school themed weddings!! I fell in love with one last week. I will check the links that were provided by PP and if it is not one of them I will post it.
My sister and her H were high school sweethearts. They did their engagement pictures at their high school! It was so cute.
ETA: it was already posted. It was this one.
