A few days ago I started using another deoderant and its given me a rash under my arms. My wedding is in 10 days! What can I do to help rid the rash? I also scratched under my arm and its really red, i have to get rid of this as it will look awful on the day.

I’m allergic to most deodorants, so I had this problem a lot before I switched to an aluminum free deodorant. The best way to get rid of the rash is to not wear deodorant for a few days. I normally use a really gentle lotion, like my facial moisturizer, for a few days. Hydrocortisone cream would probably work well too. Once it goes away, throw that deodorant away and go back to the old one.

Do not apply any more deoderant until it’s gone. keep applying cortizone, if this doesnt get any better in 1-3 days, go to your doctor for an RX topical script to get it GONE fast!

I’m a Pharmacist and i completely agree with the above posters. Purchase a cream or lotion with the highest concentraion of hydrocortisone in it and apply it according to packet directions.
Switch to a deoderant that is aluminium free and preferably fragrance and alcohol free if possible.
Do not use regular soap on the area. Use a non soap cleanser that is pH balanced and non fragranced. Use only cool water.
Wear cotton shirts or singlets for the next few days.
I live in Australia and am only familiar with brands we have here otherwise i would have recommended specific brands to you.

Do you have something that you put on babies bottoms for nappy (diaper) rash? A cream here is called sudocrem and a quick search says that babies R us http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=2854313′ defer=’defer have it. It is great on bums, lol, but also any skin (minor) complaints. I use it lots on spots and its a mirical cream. Honestly. I get infected hair follicles in my arm pits and it works like a dream! 🙂
