I would not worry about this, particularly for a wedding band. Honestly, wedding bands do not generally have all that much variation. I think it’s pretty comon to have a similar wedding band as someone else that you know.

Like pp said I really wouldn’t stress about as wedding bands tend to look a certain way and have silimlarities to other people’s rings.

@ladychaos:  I’d love to see a picture of this ring!  I honestly think you should get the ring, only add more rings if you truly WANT to, and not worry about your sister-in-law because you shouldn’t let other people have this much control over your life. Do whatever you want, and if your sister-in-law is actually childish enough to rub it in your face that she had this ring first and/or she got it as a dress ring, you can just tell her the truth (that you loved this ring long before she ever got it) and something along the lines of how wonderful it is that you both have the same great taste in jewelry.  If she continues to make an issue of this, she is the one who will end up looking foolish. I mean, honestly, who should really care if two women happen to have the same ring, especially when one of the women doesn’t even wear this ring as her engagement/wedding ring?  It would be ridiculous of her to continue to make a fuss over something so trivial, and I’m sure that most (if not all) of your friends/family would also think so.

On the other hand, it’s possible that she might actually be HAPPY that you two have the same ring.  At least three other girls had the same engagement ring (and at least two of them also had the matching wedding band as well) as me here on WeddingBee and I’m glad to have met my ring twins!  Not one of us were ever petty about having the same ring(s).

@ladychaos:  You’re welcome. ๐Ÿ™‚  Do what’s right for you.  Hopefully your sister-in-law will choose NOT to behave childishly about it, but if she does, like I said, she’s only going to make herself look bad.  So don’t worry. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wouldn’t worry about it. I think that many bands look similar as it is.
