Fellow Bees Im calling out to you…… I had no CLUE that I would qualify for short term disability, but I do, or did until I got pregnant. So now I am 21 weeks along and just heard about this program but how do I qualify now since Im already pregnant? DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS ANY INSURANCE CO OUT THERE I COULD SIGN UP FOR. I do not get any leave what so ever. HELP!!!

Ask you HR Manager. If you’re already pregnant, the pregnancy will disqualify you most likely from collecting for it. Most companies have a three monthish time frame from when you conceive to be eligible… ie. you should have signed up -3 months before getting preggers or something similar to this.
A lot of companies also provide STD to their employees for free. Check with HR asap!

For my maternity leave, we can use up to 6 weekst STD and then rest is FMLA for maternity leave. I echo the previous poster talk to your HR.

Ditto others about talking to HR. For me I could only sign up for STD during open enrollment so I got a policy outside of my employer. However there was a waiting period so unless you can sign up outside of open enrollment I think the ship may have sailed for you 🙁
