A wedding band is going to make both rings feel tighter so you might want to size up. I think the jeweler steered you wrong in going that much smaller than you were wanting.

Did the 5.75 slide around a lot and feel like it was going to fall off? Or was it just a little too much wiggle room?

If the 5.75 felt just a little too big, I would opt for the 5.5 to allow some extra space once you have the wedding band. You can always add sizing beads if needed until you have the band to wear as well.

Either way, I would try to make this your final sizing choice because resizing your band too much can weaken it.

I had the opposite problem. My jeweller was telling me to go a quarter size smaller but I feared it being too tight so I didn’t. The ring kept spinning and even flew right off when I was shaking my hand as a test. Especially since I’m paranoid about losing my ring, I eventually went back and got it sized down a bit, now it’s perfect.

If its comfortable and doesn’t bother you, I wouldn’t worry about it and wait til you get your band. And I don’t think it looks too tight from the picture 🙂

miot216 :  If its more about appearance and you are actuall happy with how it fits, then don’t worry about resizing. I don’t think that it looks too small at all! It sits very nicely on your finger. smile No one is going to even think twice about your finger, they’ll just be staring at the gorgeous ring on it!

See how you feel once you get the band and then make the decision.

I don’t think it looks too tight but I’m not the one wearing it. If you don’t like how it looks, size it up by .25. Adding the wedding band will increase the smugness, especially if it’s not a thin band.

miot216 :  i would go with the 5.5. I get married next month and when i tried my band on with my ering…my ering was tight and uncomfortable. As my ering now sits closer to the muscle underside my finger. Try putting your ering on with another or your wedding band to see how it feels…but if its tight now i would definately go up .5
