This dress is awesome!!! i think you should buy it and get it altered. You can always sell it and it sounds like you’re getting a great deal anyway.

peonyinlove: I ordered my dress without having even tried it on. I found it at a local bridal salon and the sample was a size 6. I couldn’t even get my leg in to it. I tried holding it up to myself in the mirror but it wasn’t helping. I finally just shrugged and told the lady to order it. My mother was so worried but I loved my dress and all was well. Sometimes you just have to take a risk!

The dress is beautiful! Your plan sounds good to me. Maybe show the seamstress a picture of the dress and ask her if she thinks it can be altered the way you need, before you buy

Have you tried on both silouhettes? I LOVE mermaid dresses, but trying them on was another story. Extremely confining. One mermaid dress I tried on the consultant took one look at me and told me to take it off. She said “I don’t want you to see yourself in anything you dont love, and you wont love how you look in this. So i’m not letting you see this because it will put a damper on the appointment.” LOL!

The natural waist is such a classic look. but that style also has some modern touches to it. However, natural waist dresses can make you look fuller than you actually are. But I think that one is more slimming than most because the skirt isn’t too full.

Look at pictures of other bees in their dresses and keep track of what you are drawn to. Or write a list of describing words of how you want to look on your wedding and pick the dress that fits that description best.

Things to think about….

peonyinlove: I love that reem and almost ordered it myself- depending on your cup size, it may be good that it’s big, because the sample I tried on fit everywhere but the chest.

peonyinlove: Mine were 37 27 36 and I’m not sure what size it was, but the cups were really small even considering the band size. You’ll probably be okay!
