I know this has been asked a thousand times before, but i want a poll and as many opinions as possible! We had a Destination Wedding in Florida and are having an at-home reception with about 80 people, 3 weeks after the wedding. It is a semi-formal event with a sit-down dinner and wedding cake and dancing. MOG is wearing a navy satin cocktail dress if that helps give some context.
So, should i wear my wedding dress again? I would most likely only wear it for a short while then get changed into a white cocktail dress. Should i not even bother?
My husband’s grandmother will be in attendance and i know she would love it. But i dont want it to be weird for everyone else.
Thanks for your opinions!!
ps. The dress is a lace, sweetheart, mermaid gown with a french bustle.

I dont see why not. Plus if you do you can get some more pictures of you in it with guests. is your husband going to be dresses up also?

Why not?! Its a wedding celebration and you can wear it again—I’d say go for it 🙂

I would definitely wear your dress again! You only get to do this once, well twice in your case haha. plus you can wear cocktail dresses for any occasion….I would LOVE to wear my dress again.

If it is to celebrate with those who could not attend the Destination Wedding, absolutely!
How many brides can say they got to wear their dress twice! Go for it 🙂

For sure. As others have said, it is afterall a “Wedding Celebration” so totally appropriate.
Mr TTR are doing an Elopement to a Destination Wedding as well (in our case we are Encore Bride & Groom)… and then at some point afterwards we’ll be doing a Back-Home Reception for our Friends & Family.
I plan to arrive at the event in the dress that I wore to the wedding (haven’t selected the dress yet) as I know a lot of folks will want to actually see what I wore… and it will be nice for some pictures (alone – couple – with others). Then later on when we get down to dancing time, I’ll change into something else.
I am leaning towards a Sea & Sand, Surf & Shore theme with colours in the Beige, Tan, Champagne as well as Sea Glass, Tourquoise & Navy range… my Wedding Dress may very well be in the first set (Champagne or Gold tones) while my Reception Dress might be in the second set (Blues, Navy etc)
Hope this helps,

YES!!! It will not only give you more photo ops and more use of the gown, but will be a really nice surprise for your geusts who could not see you in it at the destination wedding!

Especially since it’s mermaid, it’s not like it is a huge ballgown with a 10 foot train. I’d love a chance to wear my dress twice!
