🙁 I think you should be better by then, it should have run its course by then. Meanwhile just take it easy (as much as possible!!), drink plenty of fluids, take vitamin C. I really hope you feel better soon!

How long have you had it?  Usually my colds have a “peak” where it’s the worst for 2-3 days, and then starts getting better.

Zinc tablets are supposed to ease cold symptoms, but I think they’re most effective if taken as soon as the symptoms begin.  A good, powerful decongestant will help.  I like the 12 hour full strength kind.  Lots of liquids and as much rest as you can get!

Rest!! I had a pretty bad cold all last week and it didn’t get any better until I took the day on Saturday to rest up and relax.

Also, Advil Cold and Sinus works wonders, I find.

My secret trick is garlic! Take a clove, put it in the bottom of some soup (I use chicken noodle) and then microwave. Make sure you slurp it down when you get done with the soup. I know it’s kind of gross (unless you’re me and LOVE garlic) but I swear by it!

HONEY!  I promise.  Research suggests that honey is just as effective as OTC medications.

Try boiling some water, put a tablespoon of raw/organic honey and drink.  I normally have this a few times a day when I’m sick (of course, I don’t know if it really makes a difference how many times you have it).  Traditionally, it’s actually recommended to have honey straight up by itself when ill, I can’t stand honey by itself, though!  I know the drink may sound gross, but it tastes like tea!  It’s delicious to me!  Add some lemon and you have the classic “hot toddy”– except I don’t like the taste when lemon is added.

Taking too much OTC medications actually masks the symptoms instead of getting rid of the symptoms.  So i would suggest those if you still feel sick on the day, versus the days leading up to your wedding so your body can try to get rid of it yourself. You are sickest the first few days.  Once you start having symptoms, you are less contagious.  But definitely get your sleep and rest when you can!  I realize you have things to do, but your body does need to rest.  So drink fluids, get a full night’s rest, and sit and relax as often as possible in between things you have to do.

Feel better!

Oh no! I swear by Coldcalm and TheraFlu during the day, Alka Seltzer cold fizzy tablets at night, they will make you drowsy. I know this is not a good time to have a day off, but rest/sleep will work wonders for your recovery. Feel better soon 🙂

Pop Vitamin C like nobody’s business. You can’t take too much- whatever your body can’t process, you’ll pee out.

When I was younger and would start getting a cold, my mom would make me take 6 tablets at once, then I would have to take a tablet every 4-6 hours after. I wasn’t sick that much… so I always assumed that it worked?

A lot of people swear by Cold FX.

Get lots of sleep. *try* not to stress about being sick. lots of fluids. Use a humidifier.

Finally, if needed, totally drug yourself up for the wedding day, cover up your nose with concealer and enjoy marrying your soulmate

As the posters above have said – you have to get into bed and STAY THERE.

Rest is the only thing that will help you recover from a virus. Meds etc. will help the symptoms but to properly recover you have to let your immune system kick in and fight the bugs off.

Good luck! Hope you get better quickly! 🙂

Cold FX – sounds odd, but that stuff works like nothing else. Since this is extreme pay the extra money and get the EXTRA STRENGTH variety!!!

Take 2 per day and get as much rest as possible while guzzling OJ – that’s how I got rid of mine super fast! Start ASAP!

2,000mg a day of vitamin C. Seriously.  Pair that with what others have suggested and you should be fine!
