I’d take it as a compliment. You looked pretty dam amazing in that dress.

Sorry if I’m not any help but I see why they would want to use it. Still doesn’t make if right though 🙂

you need to contact them and tell them you are getting a lawyer and they have 15 min to take it down.

try contacting the seller and tell her that she’s using your picture and you don’t appreciate it. i don’t know why she wouldn’t use her own pic since she’s supposedly selling a dress in her possession. if they’re rude then contact the website and see what they say.

They have a “contact us” link. I would start there. Ask them to please take your picture down. See what they say…I don’t know much about consent laws, but I know that posting pics online can be a risk. I would hope they would be understanding of your concern and remove it.

I am honestly not sure, but it may be because this is a public forum you are making your picture public.

But still contact that as others said

Start here.

Be polite and explain who you are and what your issue is. You can link to the thread that the image originally appeared in if you have to. Just inform them that your image is being used without your permission and you’d like to see it removed.

Wow.

I would email/phone the company and ask to speak with the highest ranking person I could and discuss having it removed.

Cant you email or call them and ask them to take it down? This is why I refuse to put a bunch of my pics up. I found this site by googling different dresses. Is there anything a lawyer can do once we put our pics on the internet publicly with no watermarking? Do any bees know?

@ThreeMeers:  A public forum is a valid point, however, her intellectual property rights are still very much valid. You can’t just take a picture off the internet, regardless of where you’ve found it and use it to make money.

I certainly don’t have any legal knowledge of this, but my impression from everything I’ve heard is that if you post something online, you should consider it public information – photos included.  Now, I certainly agree that this is uncool (and shady) of them to use a photo of you without your knowledge or consent, but I don’t think they legally need that consent – I’m not sure what kind of recourse you would have other than simply requesting they remove it.

@Hyperventilate:  I am not sure about that. Notice how you can pin any picture that is posted here?
