Hi bees,
Like many bees before me, I’m facing the conundrum of whether or not to modify my dress into a sweetheart. Sorry, I have no pics of me in the dress yet. And please excuse my crude editing in Paint. But i think you get the general idea.
Thanks for your input! xoxo

Normally I’m all about the sweetheart, but not with this dress. It is gorgeous as-is. The lovely tiers of the dress help to support the kind of neckline it already has; the sweetheart interferes with the empire waistline just below the bust.

@Kings7911:
Personally, I’ve always thought it’s classier without the Sweetheart neckline (just my opnion).

I personally love the sweetheart neckline, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the dress as-is. How do you feel about yourself in the different necklines? I think that may be the more important question. Have you tried on dresses with sweetheart and without?

@Gemstone: No, i actually haven’t!! I ordered this dress online without even trying it on because I found such an amazing deal, I couldn’t resist! It’s at my mom’s house now, she lives about an hour away and I haven’t had a chance to try it on yet. I’ve actually never tried on any dress with a sweetheart neckline, but they seem flattering on most people. I’m not very busty, so I don’t think a sweetheart would look to revealing or anything like that on my shape. I guess I will just have to try it on and then see. 🙂
Thanks for your input, everyone!

The style of your dress doesn’t really go with a sweetheart neckline. It’s beautiful btw!

@hopefloats: Thanks! 🙂 I guess i’m not good at knowing what styles look good with a sweetheart… I do like the fact that my dress is simple & sweet, so I should probably leave it alone. Although i do really want to hack off the train…..

Hi everyone – me again. I’m also curious to hear your opinions on the train. I am not a fan of trains. The ceremony is going to be in grass, a casual backyard affair. I’d love to just chop this train right off…. My mom thinks it’s gorgeous though. What do you guys think? I could always leave a very small train…just not so long. Thoughts?

Here is a picture of a dress I love with no train. It has tiers like mine, so I’m hoping for a similar look.

I think that the tiers help mirror the existing neckline so I wouldn’t change the neckline.

I personally think it looks nice with both necklines but I definitely prefer going without the train. 🙂

Neckline: sweetheart would clash with the straight lines in the tiers of the dress, I wouldn’t change it unless you try the dress on and the straight top look awkward on you for some reason.
Train: mine was about that long, and I left it un-bustled for the day. It got pretty dirty, but it didn’t really get in the way.
