Hey, maybe I can help. We got married in Narragansett last year and Used Chelo’s catering. First of all, Lori (who I assume you are working with) is amazing to work with and the clam cakes and chowder were delicious. I’m not sure how flexible you are on your date or what your numbers look like but another Narraganset option is the Northbeach clubhouse where you can have parking and extended hours (more so if you are out of peak summer season). As this is also a town owned property, maybe you could move your deposit? We used an airport hotel and provided a shuttle  which was more cost efficient for our guests even though it cost us more for the bus rental, we decided it was worth it to avoid  beach hotel prices for our guests. If you have questions about specific vendors feel free to PM me. We were beyond happy with our DJs who are out of Warwick.

I’m supposed to get married on Saturday in the Catskills.  The region experienced flash floods and entire towns were washed away.  We don’t know what the state of our venue is yet because the owner can’t access it due to closed roads.  We are trying to figure out if we need to find a new location with 5 days notice, and we have no idea what our insurance policy will cover.

So, really, I advise that you don’t obsess so much over the details.

Date twin!  I have had many instances of cold feet regarding the plans I’ve made.  Luckily, I didn’t put a deposit down on any venue until today and I am confident this is the place for us.  There are several things I wish I could change about the venue, but can’t, so I’ll just accept it.

As far as cutting costs, there is no guidebook that says your wedding can’t be great if you purchase a second-hand gown.  My gown was purchased from a consignment shop.  I didn’t see the rationality in spending $1000 on something I will definitely never wear again.

@Ms Rocky Point: If you love your dress stick with it and the venue will work itself out. Your day will be beautiful and it about you and your Fiance.
