I wouldn’t chance it. it isn’t worth the risk. Go to the bakery and get some fresh cake, get a bottle of wine and eat it nekkid. Problem solved.

Did you put the flowers on the cake or did the cake designer do it for you? Also, what kind of flowers are they?

I’d just buy another small cake! I always thought this tradition was pretty gross and didn’t do it

I would just have your bakery make a replica- yuck to old cake! Don’t make yourself sick over it.

You can eat alot of flowers I don’t think it would hurt, if it was me i would cut the icing with the flowers off if your worried about them then re ice/decorate  the top with happy anniversary,  I would try to eat the cake only because isn’t it supposed to be lucky if the cake is still good.

Roses are edible but you don’t know what they were treated with, and roses have a lot of oil which can leech into the cake over time, carrying whatever chemicals or pesticides with it. I’d pitch the cake and get some new cake.

If you got them from the florist then they are more than likely safe but if you feel it is too risky, do as PPs suggested and get a small cake to celebrate with. If it were me, I would eat the cake. You would have to eat like a field of flowers in order for them to make you sick.

We ate our cake on our 1 year anniversary. Just a little taste. With those flowers tho, don’t chance it!
