Hello bees! I need some help with the whole veil thing. I am doing a shabby chic wedding at a historic park. Ceremony is in an old church and reception will be in a barn. I bought both a champagne dress and an ivory veil. I never pictured myself as a veil girl but it seemed to fit well with the dress at the time. Now I look at it and see my first communion lol. I have talked to the bridal shop and they will credit my account so I can return the veil and put the money towards my bridesmaid dresses but I have to decide by Saturday. I have included pictures of my dress, veil, shoes and alternate headpieces I have been considering so you can get the feel of what I am going for. Please help and let me know if the veil looks good and will work with the whole non traditional shabby chic theme or if I should go with a funky headpiece. The second last headpiece is so far my fav.
Thanks so much for your help Bees!
(please excuse spelling, my iPad will not let me go back and fix it. Also, don’t know how to make pictures smaller 🙂

Keep the veil it looks great with your dress.
Head pieces are pretty but I think a smaller one would look better:)

I’m going to say no veil, and yes to the first headpiece (Seraphim circlet). It goes perfectly with your dress, the colours tie in really well, and I think it goes with your vintage/shabby chic aesthetic as well. I kind of like the idea of no veil and showing off your tattoos!

I do love the veil but those head pieces are gorgeous and probabky a bit more shabby chic? If you’d feel too overdone/notyourself in the veil then ditch it, but it does look really lovely and matches the dress, just maybe not so much the style of the wedding (in my opinion – I could be way off here!)

I love the veil!! If you want something more shabby chic though, maybe buy the veil and a headpiece so you can wear the veil at the ceremony and then the headpiece for the reception!

No veil…i like the first headpiece.

I think a headpiece with that dress would be lovely! The veil just isn’t my favorite because your skirt is so pretty and sheer and drapey, that a drapey tulle veil is just … detracting from the skirt, I guess.
I really adore the first headpiece, and think it would look great with your dress.

loving the Twigs and Honey look with the headpieces- I think it would match the shabby chic theme. Kinda agree though that a veil for the ceremony and a headpiece for the reception might be the way to go.
