The first option is VERY affordable, and I actually prefer their work. Most usefully, they haven’t done many weddings (stick with me here!), so their wedding gallery shows a lot of photos from one wedding- you got a real sense of their style. And it seems intimate, loving and classy.

I’d go with the first, they seem to want your business for multiple reasons and not just because you’re wedding isn’t the norm.

No doubt about it, the first one.  I honestly can’t believe they are charging that little.  I would consider that a steal and book them before all of the other VA brides see this post and get there first!

Without question, #1 is better.  Go, snatch them up quickly!

I just took a look and I definitely think that the first one is much better! I was just married in Virginia Beach in April and if I had known about this team, I definitely would have used them! And that price is amazing! We paid $2,500 for an almost identical package…and that was including a military discount!

I think its a bit strange the second one wont photograph “normal” weddings.. What is normal?

Most certainly as a business owner we can pick and choose… but the couple having a “normal” wedding.. their money is the same as the vintage wedding couple so is their love.. I dont care if you get married on a beach, a garden, or the VFW.. love is love and the day is special for the couple regardless on what kind of wedding it is..

Now I understand this photographer wants a certain style/client base I assume, we all do in a way.. but my clients picked Me out of hundreds of photographers so Im honored to document the day, the “theme” is irrelevant.

Based on their comments, I’m not super impressed by either.  I don’t like how the first one talks about her bills and wanting to “stay in America” and I don’t like how the second one basically won’t shoot a traditional wedding.

Those aside, I would go with the first one.  What were your reasons for telling them no in the first place?

@Bella_and_Max:  first…thank you for this post! we have been looking HARD (well me) for an affordable but great photographer and the starting range is usually $1500+ I really like no.1, not only is the price good but they capture the “love” moment for each picture…but you can always do an engagement session with them to see their photo style or actually see them in action…

The first one has a better eye for lighting and composition IMO.  The second one has a quirky, interesting style but some of the photos she has posted lack full saturation and many of the compositions with more than 2 people are poorly done or blown out.

By far I like the first photographer better–and I wish I could have found this level of photography at that price.  I paid 2X what you did for equivalent photos. I’m not fond of some of the editing the second photographer uses. But that’s really all based on my personal preference.
