I totally feel you! I was so overwhelmed by all the photographers, pricing, albums, and all that goes along with it. I booked David Barnes, he made me feel really comfortable when we met in person, I love his photos, and when his sample album was my friend’s sisters wedding, I was sold! PM me if you want any more info! I found choosing a photographer to be the hardest decision so far!

@ama2011: we have her too! I have the blog too and can never remember the program to get blogs on my computer so I don’t check it as often as I should. I saw your link today and saw those fog pictures. i hope we get weather like that for our wedding. It will be too late for the leaves I bet though.

I second Avocado’s suggestion of Meredith at &Unlimited. She was one of the photographers at our wedding and LOVE does not begin to describe it. She is seriously awesome.

Hi ladies! I’m a MA bride tooo…and seriously, it’s been very difficult to pick a photographer! We have met with two, and we have two more to go. There is so much information out there. What is the range that everyone is spending? Anything would help! I don’t even have a ceremony site yet. Coming along!!

Our photographer (a very close friend) went to photography school in Boston (New England School of Photography).
She interned for Krista Photography and their work is BEAUTIFUL!
Also, if my friend’s professional etiquette and photography skills are any indication of what she learned while interning, they will certainly not disappoint.

awesome – thanks for the suggestions!

RI bride here, we’re using the same guys our MA friends used for their wedding last year. Not gonna lie, he’s on the pricey side but he is UNBELIEVABLE. His name is Zev Fisher, google him 🙂

@MissBoston, I thought I remebered a photographer thread here you started not too long ago! I take it you’re still trying to pick one out?

Would you mind sharing your price range. I just got married and I am a north shore bride as well an did extensive research on different photographers. How much would you like to spend and how many hours would you need?
@pinkshoes: haha yeah – well I went on a huge rampage of doing research, got totally overwhelmed, made a spreadsheet, and then realized we need to do some other stuff first before we get to photography (officiant, rehearsal dinner spot). Plus about 85% of the people I contacted were still wide open for our date (advantage to a Sunday, I guess) so it made me less stressed about the urgency. 🙂 But I will add your two to my list!
Thanks sooo much!!! We would ideally like to keep it below $3K (that is kind of a stretch, but I know we won’t get much for less than that) and about 6-7 hours of time. Having rights to print off DVD are non-negotiable. Engagement session/boudoir are not necessary.

Shang Chen is awesome! You can’t go wrong with her.
