- Wedding: May 2012
Oh ladies of the Hive, I need your help.
My fiance and I are planning our Sept. of 2012 wedding. I just started a new job and can not get insurance until December. I have pre-exsisting conditions that make purchasing insurance on my own out of the question ($500 a month is the cheapest) and I can’t get assistance through the state because he and I live together and his income counts.
I found out today I need surgery on my tailbone (again) to remove another Pilonidal Cyst. The surgery is extremely expensive and either we go into serious debt OR we go to the Justice of the Peace and get married on paper so I can go on his insurance (which is very good).
We would not recognize the JOP date as our official wedding date- other than for legal reasons and we would not tell anyone about it- except our parents who would be sworn to secrecy.
What do you think? Has this happened to anyone else? I am so upset and we really don’t want to do this, but we don’t see any other way.
