I would hang LOTS of white Christmas lights which you can buy on sale the day after Christmas since the wedding is not until April. From the light strands, you could hang some of the paper lanterns over the dance floor area (AsianImports.com has cheap prices). You could string tulle below the lights if that’s in your budget.
I’d google some images of ceiling drapes and do a combo of lights and drapes. You also might want to contact some event places in the area to see how much they charge, if it’s reasonable they’re probably the easiest option.
You could hang light or even do some type of fabril from the ceiling. Just drape it from the beams. It will in close the space but give a nice feel. Then you could put light with the color them glowing off the walls so it helps give a more closed in feel. Have tall center pieces.
fabric works wonders. a lot of companies who do decor for weddings have “ceiling swag” for cheap. what is your budget?
I saw this on a Who’s wedding is it anyways tip the wedding coordinator got those wall stick ons (like the ones you hang your coat from ) they passed light sheer fabric throgh the stickons and decorated the ceilings similar to draping for under $200. YOu can find sheer fabric at Walmart for $1.50 a piece check the clearance section or if you reside in Los Angeles county check out the callejones inexpensive fabric by the bulk
What about hanging paper lanterns or tissue paper pomanders? I’m loving the idea of the tissue pomanders lately.
I’m wanting to get married in the church that I’ve been going to since I was 10. The sanctuary is fine for the ceremony, but the gym – the only room big enough for the reception – is hideous!!! The floors are literally bright blue and red, and I’m not going for a patriotic theme. Any ideas? I’m afraid the bright floor will take away from everything else.
