What type of wedding band are you thinking?  The four prong will allow a band to nest right next to it but the 6 prong might cause a gap or require a ring with a dip in it to accommodate the prong.

I like the shape and elegance of option 1, and your wedding band will sit nicely up against it. Number 2 looks a bit boxy to me

I hate the type of prongs on number 2 so I’d go with 1.

Hmm.. some of this depends on the size of your stone. While I like option 2 because it reminds me of the classic Tiffany’s setting, I wouldn’t choose a 6 prong setting for a small stone. I have have 4 prong ring and love it, but I’m not too crazy about the hearts on the side of number 1. It’s pretty, but over time you might not want something so cutesy, if that makes sense. I do like how both have the basket sitting on top of the band, so it’s not low. Mine is a petite setting and my diamond bumps up against any wedding band I’ve tried (just a word of advice in case you look at other settings). So I think you will be good in that regard. Do you tend more toward classy or trendy? Number 2 is a very classic setting that won’t go out of style. The first is also very pretty. I don’t think you can really go wrong with either!

Option 1! I originally loved that ring but then decided I wanted sol392g, which is pretty much that ring with six prongs and a bit more detail.

holisticbabe :  I’m not engaged yet, but it’s the ring I’ve told my SO I want. I’ve always liked four prongs more until I started seriously looking at rings. I think for me it’s the really round look that six prongs gives. laughing

holisticbabe :  I mean I do like cushion cut too though. Haha. I know with ring number 1 you can have a cushion stone or round. I think that’s how I originally found it. And thank you! I do too!

I am not usually a fan of hearts… but I feel it adds a bit of whimsy and romance to that setting. The Prongs on the second option are nice but too modern and cold for my liking.

    I voted Option 1!
