- Wedding: September 2013 - The Skinner Barn
My fiance and I have been driving ourselves crazy writing our wedding ceremony. We’re having a non-religious ceremony so we’re taking inspiration from multiple sources and creating a completely new ceremony. We have everything settled except for our vows. Can you guys help me out?
Below is what we have so far. It’s silly because it’s so simple and very similar to the traditional cermony, but we wanted something quick that we could both use as our vows and repeat after the officiant. We really like what we have so far, so please don’t critique that. It took a solid two hours of collaborating with my fiance just to get this far and I really don’t feel like doubting our decisions lol.
What we need is a line to fit in the bolded section. We’re a military couple who have been long distance for most of our relationship. We know that we’re going to be separated by deployments and trainings in the future and want to make that part of our vows.
Any ideas? We’re seriously at a loss lol
I Brad, take you, Laura, to be my wife.
I promise to be your faithful companion
In sorrow and success.
In sickness and in health
(Need something for here – preferably about distance)
I promise to love and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live
