Here’s the momma! Our puppy is going to be born next week! We have our deposit down and we need to choose an Irish name, saint, city, anything thing that has to do with Ireland. Since they are Irish wolfhounds. Our pup will be a boy. So far we like Aengus “Grover” Young. Aengus is God of Celtic, Grover is his pet name and Young is the last name of the bandmate from AC/DC Angus Young. Lol. But we still want to hear others. Thanks Bees!

Omg is that an Irish wolfhound?! I am seething with jealousy! I’ve always wanted both an Irish and a Russian Wolfhound.
How about ummm… haha I like the name Blarney. As in the Blarney Stone. 😛

@echolove: I like Ronan, though I can already imagine several nicknames that I would be using with it. Fergus is another name that might work.
I’ve always adored Wolfhounds from afar, but have never had the room to get one, nor the heart to lose them so relatively soon.

@echolove: P.S. – Color me SUPER JEALOUS!! I’ve wanted an Irish Wolfhound since I first clapped eyes on them as a child….not that I don’t love the 99 Boys as they are, but the day we bring our wolfie home will be an AMAZING DAY!

…and oddly enough…in spite of the names on our dog’s papers…we call them entirely different things anyway…
The cat’s papers say that her name is Cleo….we call her Smoo (don’t ask)
The greyhound’s papers say that his name is Cairo …we call him P (leg lifter)
The pyrenese’s papers say that his name is Simba…we call him The Uni-boo-boo (He’s a stealth farter)
And the lab’s papers say that his name is Brock….we call him The Baby…he’s a 125lb baby…

@Nona99: Yeah, his pet name is Grover. That would be his calling name. But on his papers has to be an Irish name because she breeds show dogs and pets, so she wants her dogs to be distinguished from other groups of breeders.

I like Aengus! We had a timberwolf mix that we rescued whose name was Aengus. Grover is such a cute pet name, too. I think your original name idea is perfect!

I like the name you’re considering! Grover is adorable. I hope we’ll get to see pics of the pups once they’re born, how exciting!
