Hello bees!!! Hubby-to-be and I are in the process of planning our end of May/June 2013 honeymoon! We are planning early since we LOVE to travel and we know it may take some time to decide on a location, resort, etc. When we chose May 26th as our wedding date, we failed to remember that June begins hurricane season so now we are trying to decide where to go!
We are looking for:
2 weeks at a location where we won’t get bored
Relaxation and adventure
Not a cruise
Our budget is about $8-9k for the two weeks including flight from Philly/NYC, hotel, food.We are currently looking at St Lucia, Hawaii (Maui & Kauai), Aruba, somewhere in the Mediterranean… EVERYWHERE! 🙂 Let me know if you all have any great ideas or experiences to share!

Be careful with Europe at that time of year; temperatures will be climbing, but you won’t necessarily be guaranteed great weather (late June would be a better bet). There are some lovely places in Europe though; but if you go, stay self-catered or B&B, and make the most of the freedom to dine out every day. Likewise if you do Aruba, I’d stay B&B.
Re hurricane season: I wouldn’t let this put you off. We’ve been to the Caribbean 4 years running in June (going for the 5th time this year!) and the weather has always been great: very hot (very humid as well though) with some brief showers.

I agree with barbie86. Hurricane season is officially June through October but most of the hurricane activity is in august. I have been to Puerto Rico in June and it was lovely with occasional tropical showers plus it is cheaper then!!!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I was nervous about hurricane season! We are currently looking at the Jalousie Plantation in St Lucia. Anyone ever been?
