Fiance and I looked into having a Destination Wedding in Banff, but as we met with the venues, we quickly realized that it was going to cost us a lot more than where we live (we would have been able to host only 80 people in Banff vs 140 back home for the same price and style of wedding).  I might still have some info from when we looked into photographers, marriage commissioners and locations in Banff.  PM me if you have specific questions!

i’m getting married in banff in the fall! But its not a destination wedding for me because I live in Alberta. Weird, I actually can’t imagine people eloping to Banff, I didn’t know it was that popular!! You can get married by a Justice of the Peace, just google banff justice of the peace, and you should be able to find someone! There are tons to choose from! if you have any other questions let me know!

In the state of Colorado if you want the Rockies down here you can legally marry yourselves without an officiant or even witnesses… easy way to cut costs…

Are you planning on driving or flying?

Does your budget include everything-flights, hotel, marriage commisioner, meals etc?

How many nights are you planning on staying?

You can get some reasonably priced hotels in Banff mid week in May.

Have you contacted this woman in Banff?

The government has marriage commissioners available that are usually fairly low cost.  In BC (the next province over) they charge a nominal fee plus mileage.  Ours was $150 to officiate our wedding.

Fiance and I found a place called “The Preacher’s House” in Gatlinburg that has elopement and cabin packages. We thought about doing it, cost was about $600 at the time for two days, a small cake, and photographer…however, it was last summer, the prices may have changed.
