I like the short veil much better.  also i think it is. those belts are absurdly expensive; the one i originally tried on was $600 & i ended up with a $400 one….i cannot believe i paid $400 for a BELT!

I prefer the short veil on you. The short veil makes me pay most of my attention to your beautiful dress and wonderful body shape. The longer one is just too much with your dress.

Love the belt! It goes with the dress really well. I think the first veil swamps the dress too much but the second veil is too short.

I tried on the Fatima too and liked it with a raw edge cathedral veil. I thought it looked beautiful and dramatic, but I like long veils πŸ™‚

Belts are expensive :/ You can check on etsy.com to see if you can find something you like better and cheaper? I tried mine on with this belt, a $300 Enzoani.

Has your dress arrived yet? Because I can tell you from experience, your actual dress will be MUCH bigger and poufier than the sample you tried on.

I am wearing a dress which is very similar (Dabra from Blue by Enzoani) and I’ve found that a long veil really puts a lot of emphasis on the skirt of dress and makes it look more bottom-heavy than it already is. I opted for a shorter veil, similar to the one you posted a picture of (I’m wearing this veil: http://www.etsy.com/listing/83132318/bridal-veil-elbow-length-half-circle ). I like the way the little pouf at the top of the veil helps to balance out the huge skirt of the dress and the shape of the veil really “hugs” the shoulders.

I like the idea of a belt with the Fatima, but the one you posted seems a bit heavy. I’m more inclined to pick a belt like the one arabesque posted.

I am wearing Fatima as well! I’m still undecided on a vei. I love cathedral length veils but am worried about all the tulle at the bottom of the dress being too much. I think the shorter veil in your picture is a bit too short, maybe you can find one that goes a bit longer to where the tulle skirt starts getting bigger?

It really depends on the kind of feel you want and your venue… are getting married in a cathedral? then def long.. are you getting married in the afternoon outside? then maybe the short πŸ™‚

Please look on Etsy for veils and belts.  We brides are suckered into paying SO much more than things should actually cost because people think that brides are suckers (and enough of us are, so they can charge those crazy prices because so many are willing to pay them).  I got my veil at Michael’s craft store for less than $10 (a shorter one like you are wearing above, and it was already done, no crafting involved, all I did was sew it onto the included comb, though I could have just relied on the attachment loops that were already on the veil).  The exact same thing would have cost about $180 at the bridal shop.

I love the long veil with your type of dress! It really accents it!
