My reception venue (The Grecian Center in Southgate) does not allow outside chair cover / table cover vendors. The problem is the vendor that they (Coutoure Beginnings in Wyandotte) do not have the colors that I want. Not to mention, the lady who runs the place is in Florida on vacation until MARCH!!!
I don’t know what to do… any suggestions????

Can you purchase them and bring them in yourself? I have spoken to alot of vendors and they want to charge more than if I bought them myself.

Let the rep at the venue know that not only is it unfair to force you to stick with the vendor, and its unprofessional she is away until March, but he cant force you to choose her if she does not have what you WANT.. therefore you must go elsewhere. Unless she can provide with you what youre looking for, he has to be out of his mind to say no. Nobody can force you to choose different colours for your wedding.

Ugh!! Some of these vendors!!! I hate the way some of them (not all) try to back you in a corner and force you to pay things. If they aren’t going to have a full spectrum of colors (which may be unreasonable with all the colors that are out there these days), then it’s ridiculous of them to have a no outside chair cover policy (which is extremely unreasonable). That is completely and totally a money thing. I bet their rentals are extremely expensive. What liability would they have if you rented from somewhere else? None at all. Ugh. These vendors…

I used to work for a hotel, and I can somewhat vouch for what’s going on…the venue has to pay their staff to put the covers on and take them off if the rental agency doesn’t do it.
Contact someone else at your venue (it is garbage that she’s on vacation for so long!), and ask if you can use an outside vendor for chair covers if the vendor puts them on and takes them off. Make sure that the vendor WILL take them on and off though! Otherwise, that’s what’s probably going on…the labor has to either come from the venue or the vendor.
