(Closed) Help w custom bands plz- are bands thinner than their molds?

    You should be able to hold your jeweler to his word if he says the bands will turn out the way you want them. Also, the quote you were given at the beginning should stay the same once your rings are done, if not, then the jeweler is a crook and you can take your design to another jeweler. Have you made a deposit or similar? Is there an agreement or some sort of receipt?

    It would make sense that they would be thinner as they are formed inside the mold. These r questions u should ask the jeweler- especially about whether you would have to pay for the extra shaved off. I would think not as they would simply keep it and re-use it in other projects but definitely ask!! Good luck!

    Well, that confused me, I don’t really understand what you mean by a “a very reputable jeweler and doesn’t requere a deposit”. I understood you were worried about cost and this was what I was addressing. I wasn’t expecting snark for trying to be helpful. Good luck.
