Hi Weddingbee-ers! Need a little help, I have a 1920s style heavily beaded/sequinned gown that I need help matching my hair with. My hair is halfway between brunette and blonde (most people say I’m a dark blond) and hair fairly long. I think the dress is busy enough, so I want something simple and elegant and not overly “done”. I’m thinking up would be best to show off my shoulders, and I’ll probably have a chapel veil (single layer) clipped in. Any inspiration to suit my dress would be vastly appreciated!
Here’s a couple pics of my dress:

What about doing some beautiful finger waves and collecting most of the length in a bun to keep it off your shoulders? Finger waves were very popular from the 20’s up through the 40’s.
Something like this (only with longer hair gathered in a bun in the back):
This page has plenty of links to 20’s style hair:
ETA: By the way, that dress is absolutely gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous dress! I like finger waves for the style, but they’re difficult to do in longer hair — really meant for the long bobs of the era or hair that’s pinned under to look like a bob. I think anything that’s fairly soft curls pinned up with a deco-style clip would look fantastic. Maybe something like
You can personalize the hair clips, of course. And with a bold red lip and strong brows, it’d play up the vintage flair.

If you want to go for a full 1920s look the finger waving is perfect. But if you want something vintage but modern at the same time I prefer @sayastar suggestions. I think it look stunning 🙂

OMG your dress is stunning!
I like the finger waves idea. If you want something less literal, you could do something simple in the front like this, with a low bun.
