- Wedding: October 2013
Fellow Bees, we need your help!
My SO and I currently have most things planned for our upcoming October 12 wedding but are lacking one major item – a ceremony space. We had our eyes on a local park facilty but just found out that it’s no longer available (even though you aren’t supposed to be able to book until 6 months out). We found a different park facility that may work, but I’m not 100% sold.
Anyone have any suggestions for an indoor site (around NW DC/Bethesda, MD) that has enough space for at least 75 people? We aren’t religious but aren’t opposed to having our ceremony in a church (etc.) if they allow secular ceremonies/rent to nonmembers. We also aren’t against an outdoor ceremony, but it would definitely keep my neurotic tendencies in check if there was an indoor option just in case.
Some other details: Our reception will be at a restaurant in Bethesda, MD starting at 3pm so we’d need the ceremony space for the morning (or no later than 1/2pm). We are also planning on providing transportation to our guests to get them to/from the ceremony so it’s ok if it’s not super nearby. The vibe of the wedding is pretty low-key so we’re pretty open to anything, though we’re hoping to keep costs low if possible. I’ve included pictures of the two park sites below but I know my SO would love if we found a library/historic site as well.
The facility that is no longer available (above).
Any thoughts??? Until now, my searches haven’t yielded much success, particularly since we are only looking for a ceremony space and most places I’ve found want you to do the ceremony/reception in one. Thanks, Bees!
*As a note: We were originally looking at park sites due to low costs but really are open to anything.
