Hi! First timer here on Weddingbee and I need help. My wedding is just 47 days away and I desperately need help. I would have thought that my wedding centerpieces would have been the easiest since I already had an idea of what I wanted but turns out that my taste is way to expensive LOL…. We are going for a winter wonderland theme and this is what we have so far. I bought the vases for less than $4.00 and are about 11 inches. I bought the branches at Hobby Lobby for less than $4.00 (original price is about $8.00). Now I have no idea what else to add to them. I bought epson salt over the weekend to make it look like snow but I feel like it is still missing something. We are adding candles around the vases but that’s as far as we have gotten. I am stuck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!

trevino24: What about wood slabs to put the vase on, and maybe have it covered in “fake snow”? I’ve seen small hanging candles from branches on centerpieces too that look great! I’ll see if I can find some pictures.

trevino24: How about adding pinecones? Or lights? Or cranberries?

How about something like this wrapped around inside?
Found it at http://www.afloral.com

Maybe some fairy lights? wrapped around the branches?

What about spray painting the branches to be white and sparkly and then draping crystal strands through them?

trevino24: You can spray paint the branches with silver glitter to give it a “winter wonderland” look.

onthefritz: We actually thought about this but the branches are very weak, they wouldn’t be able to hold the candles.

LMD: I had not seen these before… thanks! I will look into them.

playdohpants: Would the pinecones look better in the inside or outside the vase?

I would spray paint the branches white then roll in or sprinkle with crystal vase filler that you can get at Michael’s while they are still wet.
Epsom salts are a great idea as the cover the unattractive butt ends of the branches. Proportionately, the Epsom salts will look better if they only come about 1/3 the way up the vase.

trevino24: Here are a few ideas
- You could use colored pebbles to hold the branches in place.
- You could color the water
- add candles around the base (perhaps candles that reflect your wedding color)
- tie a ribbon around the vase
Be careful about hanging things from the branches. I went to a wedding that had similar centerpieces. Towards the later part of the reception the glass ornaments fell off and shattered on the table. This was a bit dangerous since food and drink were still on the table

I would paint the branches white.
Also, here is a picture that is very similiar to what you’ve done so far :
If you have a dollar tree around you, I would buy some smaller vases. The vase seems to tall to me. You can get them for $1 each, same round kind but they come in 10″ and 12″.
I also like the idea of this one.. with a glitter vase [which is very easy to do!]
Here’s another idea : paint the branches silver, and wrap a ribbon on the vase, fill vase with pearls or silver sand, shells, or even beads.
Or you could even fill the bottoms of the face with small round ornaments :

trevino24: I would do it in the vase on top of the salt. I’ve done something similar as an “around the house” decoration and Christmas time. The pinecones were slightly glittery too. It looks like they’re laying in snow. You could do some in and some out!
