I found THE dress. You know when you see that dress and you just know that that’s the one that you’re going to walk down the aisle in, well I found it. But the problem is, the color in the dress doesn’t match the wedding colors I had picked out. The dress is by Claire Pettibone, called Midnight. I fell in love with it and knew that was the dress, no matter what it was mine. So, I started thinking, the dress says it has plum in it. my colors were sage and damask, but if the dress is plum then i can’t have the sage, the color would need to be plum. But the runway shot of the dress shows the plum as black. I won’t know on that for sure until I try on the dress next month! But the theme is like an old hollywood theme and it’s on the beach in San Diego. I’m not going to go all out on the decorations because the scenery is the decoration and we are limited on funds (everything so far already came out to $7,000!!) I’m just so jumbled in my head right now I can’t seem to think straight. I need some ideas to help me get out of this funk. I’ve uploaded a picture of the dress. Help!

Well, honestly, there is apparently a trend right now of pairing purples and greens. My colors are actually eggplant, lilac and a leafy/chartruesy green. I think the sage and plum could probbly work if you try to incorporate the plum a little. Is that an option?

I think you can keep the colors you have. Once you get your dress if the “plum” color looks black then it will go great with the damascus and if it’s more on the purple side, just add small bits of purple in your flower arrangements, linens, bows, ink on menu, ink on table numbers. (Something that is simple to change.)

I’ll second Charm’s suggestion. Use little bits of plum here & there as an accent! I love the idea of tying the purples into your flower arrangements. It’s such a royal color 🙂
Okay, the reason I’m really responding is because my least favorite thing about wedding planning so far is the back & forth crap. I’ve changed my mind 8 million times on what type of wedding I want, where I want to have it. I’m set with my caterer, my invites & Save-The-Date Cards, but everything else has changed.
I’m SO with you & ready to pull my hair out too!! lol I should keep some money set aside for a wig or extension because with a year (or possibly more) to go– I’m sure I’ll have bald spots by then!
