This is my first ever post so please be gentle with me! I think I’m having the classic wedding dress wobble.
Having tried on numerous dresses from slinky grecian numbers to massive poufy meringues, I finally found the one. I love the wy it swished and the pretty bits of sparkle which weren’t too over the top Several months on after putting down the deposit I keep worrying about whether I made the right choice.
The pics I have of me in the sample dress I was trussed up like a Christmas turkey to fit into a dress which was one size too small, so I probably look a little lumpy which maybe doesn’t help. Am I overthinking this?
I will actually have an ivory rather than a black sash on the real dress although in the same design.
What do you think?
Also, I always pictured wearing an elbow length veil, do you think it would work with this dress? I love the way birdcages look on others but am just not feeling it for me. I’ll almost certainly be wearing my hair down in soft waves.
Thanks in advance for any input!

If you want a veil, then go for it! I think it will look beautiful! Don’t wobble on your dress, it’s lovely! Sparkle and swish sound just right for a wedding day. 🙂

Ooh I think it’s beautiful!!

That dress is adorable! I love tea length, really love tea length. Of course you can wear a veil! I wouldn’t go any longer than elbow lenth, but I still think a veil would be beautiful!
Welcome to the Hive!

Dress is gorgeous and you look great in it. And the veil will add the perfect touch. Great choice!

That’s something I’m worried about too! I plan to wear a knee-length dress, and might be wearing my mother’s elbow-length veil, but I don’t know if knee-length is too short to wear that long a veil. I don’t know that I’ve seen longer than a birdcage veil on a model wearing a short dress… And I’m worried. What do you think?
(Sorry Britgirl13 – I can’t view your dress right now, but tea length + veil, I’m totally for)

Thank you for all the supportive and positive comments everyone 🙂 Feeling a bit reassured now. I love the swish factor and relaxed feel of tea-length think it’s just that thing of having ordered it and not being able to try it on again for a few months while waiting for it to come in to the shop, not to mention my classic overthinking tendencies.
Thanks Totheislnds, I’d been having no luck finding pictures of tea length brides with veils and was having trouble visualising but I’m loving the look in that top picture.
Happy Friday everyone and thank you so much x

@sfms: I guess it’s just a question of us trying it and seeing what it looks like. I love the idea of you wearing your mum’s veil, I’m sure you’ll find a way to rock that look

Just wanted to reassure any brides to be out there who may be having their own wobble and stumble accross my original post. I ended up completely loving my dress so take a deep breath and trust your instincts! We were married on the 26th May and had a beautiful day. Enjoy the pics! (I ended up sans veil as whilst the online blogs telling you making a veil is easy are not exactly fibbing, it’s harder than it looks to end up with a veil that hangs exactly as you want it to. Since it was really hot I didn’t mind having no veil though 🙂
In case anyone is interested my bridesmaids are wearing Dessy dresses in seaside Dupioni which is kind of a seagreen/mint colour.
Hmmmmm ok my computer is not refusing to upload pics at the mo so will try again later!
