What shade of Red?  Lots of shades of red actually look great against royal blue or gold.  If you want to be safe I would do the the favors in gold paper with shimmery gold ribbon.  THat’s the safest approach.  I would probably keep the linens off-white with gold accents where possible too.

If you feel a bit more daring why not add Red touches to some parts of the reception, as I mentioned earlier most shades of red add a dramatic touch to blue.  Either way, good luck.

It’s my opinion that your guests will not analyze the color of your ribbon.  If you aren’t a big fan of red, you’re under no obligation to incorporate that color into your wedding otherwise.  I agree with the above commenter that red can look rather stunning with gold and royal blue, but if you aren’t a fan, stick with your royal blue and gold, it will be beautiful!

I’d stick with the blue and gold for all of the favors and decorations.  At the reception, the dim lighting will not draw too much attention to the walls.  I would suggest renting some plain white or ivory table linens because a red table would be something people would notice.  However, even if you didn’t rent linens, the blue and gold would look nice with the red.

Stick with the colors you love– my church has ugly 70’s red carpeting and pew coverings. So I worried about this too. My main color is navy blue and I’m kind of just pretending the red doesn’t exist– and taking most of my important photos at the reception where there is no red to be found.

Can you change the table cloth color? Also, are there any spots without red? Like a hallway or entryway? You could pick a place for photos with no red so it’s not in the photos you will be framing. Or maybe hang some faux curtains to frame the cake table, etc.– and hide at least some of the red.

Here is a great favor idea. It looks like a cake but also doubles as your wedding favors. This is a great gold color.  http://www.weddingolala.com
