Ugh!!!! Of course this would happen! I am on BC but still get horribly huge, painful, red pustules/nodules under my skin each month! I don’t know what to do now – my bridal portraits are this Sunday and my wedding is next Saturday!
I’ve been using Retin-a and that only works for my regular pimples (not the hormonal ones) and I can’t use anything with Benzoyl Peroxide (I’m allergic to it).
What can I do?? 🙁

Oh no! Don’t panic!
You should be able to go to the dermatologist and get it injected with a corticosteroid. It’s supposed to take it down within a few days. I hope it works for you!

Eek! Origin’s spot remover gel stuff is awesome for clearing up those big sore spots. It looks expensive for the amount but it lasts foreeeever and gets to work pretty quickly.

I know they cost a lot but you could try one of those spot machines? I never have, I just cake on the concealer lol.

Mix water and bakind soda into a paste. Apply it onto your zit and let it sit there untill it drys. This usually works for me. I hope it works for you too.

Get two aspirin (must be aspirin) and crush them until it becomes a powder. Add either water, honey or a natural oil like olive oil or coconut oil until it becomes a paste. I put it on the spot and let it sit for a while then when I rinse it rub it around because it becomes like an exfoliator. The aspirin works as a redness reducer and it reduces swelling. 🙂

Your best bet is to hunt down a dermatologist and have them inject cortesone in it. Works like a charm.

Dab some hydrogen peroxide on it.

I agree with previous posters, if a cortisone shot is not possible, then i would crush up an aspirin and baking soda, mix it into a paste and apply. Also, I have had good luck with the xeno/zeno (can’t remember the spelling) hot spot treatment. The price of those has gone down drastically in the past year, i got mine at Walgreens for like $30. Also Xmas tree shops have them now for even cheaper, or so I hear. Hope that helps, whatever you do, dont pop it!!!

Lol thanks for all the replies guys! It hasn’t popped yet (and I haven’t touched it!). I have been applying a thin layer of salicylic acid to it and will try the asprin thing when I get home. 🙂

dont panic.. my mom always told me put toothpast on it… it drys it out.. good luck you will look great in time for your wedding day.

Whatever you do, DON’T PICK AT IT.
(I am SO guilty of picking at them…it’s awful.)
And relax! 9 days is far enough away that as long as you keep it clean and dry, it should be gone by then. For the bridal portraits, the photographer will be able to photoshop it out, so it shouldn’t matter.

- Wedding: December 2019 - Paris, France
try some toothpaste on it overnight! then concealer away! Oh and about the pics, im sure your photog will be able to airbrush it out.. no worries

i wouldn’t want to do anything that would make your skin dry out & peel, a lot of spot treatments do that. if it gets like that it will be harder to cover smoothly. if you can get an injection from a derm, that would be best. if not, the zeno is great for those & it doesn’t dry out your skin & make things worse. good luck!

I agree, it’s worth it to go to the dermatologist, they can make it disappear! Worth it for the wedding pics IMO! Don’t use too much of the salicylic acid, it will dry it out and it may take make-up weird on your wedding day!
