@DoctorandDrLady:  We’re having the best man hold both rings.  You can also just give both to the officiant before the ceremony, but our best man doesn’t really have anything else to do, lol.

Since we don’t have a wedding party, my fiance’s unofficial best man will be carrying both.

At most weddings I’ve attended the Best Man takes care of both.

He hands them over when the officant tells him to. This is normally part of the ceremony. Depending on what kind of ceremony you’re having this is also the time that the officiant can bless them before directing the exchange of rings.

We’re having the Best Man hold my wedding band and my MoH is holding his wedding band. IDK or care if this is traditional or not, but it is the way we wanted to do it!

@DoctorandDrLady: I think we’re just going to have the officiant hold them.

HAPPY WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!  😀

The few weddings I’ve been in the best man has held both but I’ve heard of the MOH holding onto the grooms or the officiant already having them.  There’s definitely no set rule.

Etiquette Snob here… lol

Traditionally the Best Man as the “assistant” to the Groom holds the Bride’s WBand… and the MOH holds onto the one for the Groom.

At the appropriate moment in the Ceremony…

You will turn to her, and she will hand it to you.

IF you use a Ring Bearer, he will go up to the front of the Church either in a symbolic way… in that the Pillow will be empty… (preferred, cause there is nothing worse than rings rolling around on the floor if they come off the pillow / untied)… OR if you absolutely want to tie the rings onto the pillow, then he hands it off to the MOH*… and then the child goes to sit with Mom & Dad in the pews.

*If you tie them on, good to arm the MOH with a small pair of nail clippers / nail scissors so if the knots are too difficult to manage she can snip the ribbons.

Alternatively as someone mentioned, the Best Man can hold onto all the rings if you prefer.

Hope this helps,

The groomsmaid (we have a groomsmaid) will have both rings. She will hand them to the officiant when he asks for them.

@This Time Round:  Haha! Well it seems like we’re going to do it the correct way then! (It is probably in that etiquette book I am going to be picking up tomorrow morning! Thanks again for that suggestion.)

Our officiant said to just give em both to the best man. I think it makes it easier since he’ll have a pocket and the MOH’s dress won’t.
